Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Statement

MHRCET is dedicated to principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion by empowering others while building a strong and continuously growing network of support services and providers who share a mutual interest in reducing disparities, stigma, and discrimination in underserved communities. We understand cultural differences, educational disadvantages, language barriers, and other societal factors directly impacting positive outcomes. We understand our multicultural audience and built a reputation of trust while providing resources that strengthen resilience, support fundamental family needs, and promote wellness as a comprehensive mental health prevention approach.

We are founded by leaders in the healthcare technology, mental health, education, criminal justice, and social services sectors and managed by a diverse group of individuals, including some who bring lived experience to their commitment to marginalized California communities. We have served as a multi-service nonprofit to address the unique needs of at-risk and disadvantaged youth, adults, and families in diverse populations.

Education

We understand educational disadvantages, language barriers, and other societal factors directly impacting positive outcomes. Our goal is to cultivate an organization reflective of the culture and diversity we represent. We pledge to provide excellent care, support, and education to improve health equity of all.

DEI Training

MHRCET is focused on positively impacting diverse communities, as well as team members throughout the organization. Advocacy, awareness, and policy training provide opportunities to learn about cultural differences, stigma reduction, and social justice.

Resources

To streamline our community resource efforts, we facilitate virtual presentations and conferences delivered by mental health professionals and individuals with lived experience, with an emphasis on supporting disproportionately impacted communities.

Our commitment to proactively ensuring open, inclusive, and equitable engagement throughout our organization is building collaborative relationships and engaging with underrepresented communities. We vow to execute this approach on a continual basis with our dedicated team members (board members, staff, direct support and community partners).
