You are what you eat. You’ve heard of this saying, right? It may be cliché, but it rings true. It’s typical to aim for retaining a healthy diet for weight loss and preventing physical medical conditions. But have you ever considered eating healthily because of the benefits it provides to your mental health? Eating the right foods can positively affect your brain activity, including improving your mood and aiding mental health conditions.
There are several foods that are great for your mind but let us discuss three of the most common foods:
- Chicken is a fan favorite. It contains an amino acid that helps your body produce serotonin, the mood boosting chemical.
- There are so many foods classified as whole grains and plenty to choose from! They contain complex carbohydrates that provide a consistent source of energy throughout your day.
- Finally, we have yogurt. Yogurt contains active cultures for your probiotic intake. Probiotics are awesome for digestive health and can also help with reducing stress and anxiety.
All things considered, try to incorporate these into your diet to feed your brain as well as your stomach.
